The MTB mecca of central USA joins DHR for one heck of a race in Crested Butte!

Crested Butte is known as one of the birthplaces of mountain biking, and enthusiasm for the sport continues today throughout the Gunnison Valley. The Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park was established in 2009. It includes a vast trail network with 30+ miles of singletrack, offering both lift-served downhill and cross-country rides that connect to some of the legendary rides in and around Crested Butte. CBMR is thrilled to partner with Downhill Rockies and be a part of the resurgence of regional downhill mountain bike racing competitions in our area and beyond.

The mother of all Texas Enduro races has emerged as a 2-day event: one at Spider Mountain Bike Park and one at Reveille Peak Ranch. Each day calculated together to decide one winner. Both of these parks rival any venues in the south, but together….forget about it. Year round lift access and mini Moab? Yuh, please. This race will be part of the 2023 Texas Enduro Cup as far as points go and will be worth points plus 20% in the series chase for the elusive Chain Cup. Don’t think we’ll slack on awards for the event though. The Enduro National Champion has to be looking fresh. As always, we will be running Gravity Stage Racing format for the enduro so anyone that has a tendency o cut tires can relax.

In February of 2022 Jerri approached Jeremiah with an idea to honor her late husband Kyle, an avid Klunkin enthusiast with a some kind of event based on the origin of modern day MTB racing. She was hoping to have that event in 2023, but Jeremiah was so moved by the dedication and idea that he denied her an event within that timeframe. She was absolutely flabbergasted when he said “we need to do a Klunker race down Spider Mountain fire road asap!!!!”

This Texas legendary XC event is back with a new crew, refreshed format, but same great trails at FCCR and of course Mellow Johnny’s! We’ll have amazing courses for all categories which have all been modified to resemble today’s racing divisions. In fact Tristan was out last Tuesday to choose the route and it is extraordinary. You wont find trails like these at most Texas venues.
