Riders Notes

Race Format:

  • Trail Party Format means you can run your assigned stages as many times as you would like

  • Only your best time on each stage will count towards your total time

  • It is encouraged to run all assigned stages once before rerunning each one

  • Timing chips will be due at at scheduled time.

  • Lowest total time wins your class

Timing Information

  • Timing chips are to be worn on your left wrist

  • Start and Finish stations posted on each stage will record your race times

  • The time-stamped recordings are stored in the chip

  • Start and Finish stations have a 6’ radius so you must pass within that distance for your time to count

  • Avoid the stations when not racing so as to not put extra stamps on your chip

  • Start with one foot on the ground on the provided start line

  • Have chips returned by assigned time

  • Lost chips are $120 so be careful with them

  • Times will posted on the Results page ASAP

Race Safety

  • With so many riders and up to six short stages, be conscious of other riders on course

  • Riders may ask for additional time before the rider after them starts or may ask them to go first

  • Slower riders safely yield to passing riders

  • Faster riders call out to slower riders to pass

  • Please report course or tape damage to the Trail Party tent so it can be fixed ASAP

  • Follow all park rules

  • Do not cut any courses

Downed Rider Protocol

  • If you crash, please try to move off course immediately and seek help

  • The first rider to come across a downed rider should stay with them and stop traffic from proceeding

  • The second rider to come across them should go straight to seek aid from medics

  • Cellular phone service is limited but medical staff will be posted

  • The third rider to come across them should help the first rider keep the downed rider safe

  • Do not move or pick up a downed rider if they cannot help move themself

Please study the notes, schedules, protocols, and maps to ensure a smooth, safe day.

This is the big one folks. The 6th annual Race Down Spider Mountain is an all day event and historically the biggest enduro in the state. We understand that people may have other plans that evening and we will do our best to get through the race on time. Above all be kind to Spider and TTP staff and volunteers. We are trying our best, but MTB racing has many factors that can affect an event.
